Unlocking a paid chapter

Some writers put a coin price on their chapters. When you reach a paid chapter, the reader shows its price and your balance.

1. Open the paid chapter.
2. Tap Unlock.
3. Check the price in the confirmation window and confirm.
4. The chapter opens right away.

Good to know

• Unlocks are permanent. Once you unlock a chapter, you never pay for it again, and it stays unlocked on other devices and on the website.
• The full price goes to the writer.
• Chapter prices range from 1 to 20 coins. The first 3 chapters of a book are always free.
• A chapter that has been sold can't be deleted and can't be substantially changed by the writer, so the text you paid for is protected.
• You can't buy chapters of your own book.
• Offline downloads skip chapters you haven't unlocked.
• Unlocking also works on the website.

If you're a writer

To price your chapters, your account needs to meet a few requirements: accept the Creator Payment Terms, have at least 25 followers, at least 10 published chapters and at least 250 chapter reads in total. The price field in the chapter editor shows which requirements are missing and your current numbers.
