Muting, deleting chats and blocking

Press and hold a chat in your Messages list, or use the menu at the top right inside a chat, to reach these actions.

Muting

Choose Mute chat and pick how long: 15 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours, 8 hours, 1 day or Until turned back on. A muted chat sends no notifications, but messages still arrive. Use Mute chats from the menu at the top right of the Messages screen to silence all chats at once.

Deleting

• Delete chat: hidden only for you; the other person still sees the messages. If you chat with them again, the old messages don't come back.
• Delete chat and unfollow: hides the chat and unfollows the person.
• Delete all chats: in the menu at the top right of the Messages screen.

Blocking

When you choose Delete chat and block, or Block User from someone's profile menu:

• You can't message each other, and any follow between you is removed.
• You can't see each other's profiles or comment on each other's posts and books.
• The blocked person isn't notified.

To unblock someone, open Settings › Blocked Users.
