Starting a chat

To keep unwanted messages out, direct messaging on Arwy opens with a mutual follow: if you both follow each other, you can chat.

Starting a new chat

1. Open Messages from the bottom bar.
2. Tap the button in the bottom-right corner to open New chat.
3. The list shows your mutual follows; search and pick someone.

You can also open a chat with the Message button on the profile of someone you follow mutually.

Why is the Message button locked?

If the Message button on a profile looks locked, you don't follow each other yet. Tapping it shows You can message each other once you follow one another. Follow them; the moment they follow you back, the button unlocks.

Good to know

• Chats you've already started stay in your Messages list, and you can continue them from there.
• You can't message someone who has blocked you or whom you've blocked.
• You can write to our support account (@arwydestek) without following. You can also reply to any message from our official @arwy account, or email info@arwy.life.
• To talk with several people at once, use chat rooms.
