Creating an account
Sign up step by step with your email, or in a few taps with your Google account.
You can sign up for ARWY in two ways: with your email address or with your Google account. You need to be at least 13 years old.
Agreeing to the terms
Both ways start with three separate checkboxes. They are empty by default and none is ticked for you:
- The Terms of Use and the License Agreement (required)
- The Privacy Policy and the Personal Data Information Notice (required; you confirm you have read them)
- Campaigns, new features and announcements (optional)
You can't continue until the first two are ticked. The third is entirely optional and doesn't limit anything in the app. You can change it later in Settings › Notifications.
Signing up with email
- On the welcome screen, tap Sign up.
- Enter your first and last name, tick the checkboxes and tap Continue.
- Pick a username: 3–20 characters using lowercase letters, numbers and underscores. If it's available, you can move on.
- Enter your email and tap Send code. Type in the 6-digit code you receive to verify it. The code is valid for 30 minutes.
- Enter your phone number.
- Add your date of birth and gender.
- Choose a password: at least 8 characters, with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number and a special character.
- Choose a profile photo and finish. If a friend invited you, you can enter their code in the Invite code (optional) field on this step.
No email? Check your Spam/Junk and Promotions folders. You can request a new code after a short wait.
Signing up with Google
- Tap Sign up with Google and choose your account.
- On the Before you start screen, tick the checkboxes and tap Accept and continue.
- Your profile is set up with your Google name and photo, and you get a temporary username. You go straight into the app.
You can fill in the rest whenever you like, see Completing your profile.
Good to know
- If you've been reading as a guest, the books you read move to your new account. See Reading without an account.
- Each email address, username and phone number can only belong to one account.
