Reading without an account
Browse the app and read books without an account; when you sign up, everything you read moves to your account.
You don't need an account to try ARWY. Tap Continue without signing in on the welcome screen and you'll see the real app, ready to read.
What you can do as a guest
- Browse books on the home screen and in Explore, and search.
- Read books and chapters.
- Your place is saved: the books you read appear under Continue Reading on the home screen, even after you close and reopen the app.
What needs an account
Liking, commenting, following, messaging, sharing posts, writing books, creating libraries and the wallet all need an account. When you tap one of these, the sign-in screen opens so you can sign in or sign up.
What happens when you sign up
- If you create a new account (with email or Google), everything you read as a guest moves to it as is.
- If you sign in to an existing account, the books you read as a guest are added to it. Your existing reading history is kept; if the same book appears in both, the more recent progress wins.
If you never sign up, your guest reading history is deleted automatically after a while. Signing up is all it takes to keep it.
Good to know
- Guest reading history belongs to the guest session on that device. If you uninstall and reinstall the app, it won't come back.
- For the sign-up steps, see Creating an account.
