Notifications aren't arriving
Check phone permissions, in-app preferences, muted chats and battery settings.
If notifications aren't coming through, the cause is usually one of a few settings. Check them in order:
- Phone permission: if you see the "Notifications are off — tap to enable" banner at the top of the app, tap it and allow notifications. If not, check that they're on in your phone's Settings › Apps › Arwy › Notifications.
- In-app preferences: in Arwy, open Settings › Notifications. You can turn likes, comments, follows, messages, rooms and book updates on or off individually.
- Muted chats: if you muted a chat or all chats, message notifications stay off until the mute ends. Muted chats show an icon in the chat list. Chat rooms can also be muted individually.
- Battery and data saving: some phones (especially Xiaomi, Huawei and Oppo) close apps in the background. Turn off battery optimisation for Arwy and allow it to run in the background.
- Update: make sure you're on the latest version of the app.
Notifications arrive but the content is hidden
If you turned on app lock in Settings › Security, message content may be hidden in notifications. Change this with the Hide content in notifications switch.
Good to know
- You won't get notifications from people you've blocked or who blocked you.
- The website (arwy.tr) doesn't send push notifications; they go to the Android app.
- If you reinstalled the app, open it and sign in once so notifications are routed to this device again.
