18+ books and age confirmation

Some authors mark their books as adult content (18+). These books are shown differently so you don't run into them by accident.

How they look

18+ books have a blurred cover in lists and on cards, with a warning mark on top. You need to confirm before you see the clear cover and read the book.

Age confirmation

1. Open the page of an 18+ book.
2. An 18+ Content dialog appears.
3. If you want to read it, tap Yes, I'm over 18. If you cancel, the book page closes.

Your confirmation applies only to that book and is remembered on your device. You'll be asked again when you open another 18+ book.

Good to know

• The confirmation is self-declared. ARWY asks people under 18 not to open these books; parents can also use Google Play's parental controls.
• The book page also shows other warnings the author marked (violence, horror, sensitive topics). Take a look before you start.
• 18+ books aren't included in the public book pages on the web.
• If you see content that breaks the rules, use Report book in the book page menu.
